ZAMBEZI East UPND MP Brian Kambita says there’s nothing sinister about the delay in the procurement process and delivery of 156 ambulances under CDF. The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, through ZAMMSA, has procured 156 ambulances using the Constituency Development Fund, with delivery initially expected by December 2024. However, it was revealed during a Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hearing that the suppliers would not be able to deliver the ambulances within the contracted period. The Committee further heard that the suppliers could only deliver the ambulances by the end of February 2025.
