NHIMA Board Chairman Dr Richard Mwiinga has lamented that claims under the scheme are higher than member contributions, thereby creating a huge financing gap. He says as at December 31, 2024, the authority’s revenue averaged K100 million per month, while claims stood at K160 million. And Dr Mwiinga says the amendment of the benefits package is intended to prevent abuse by healthcare providers and removing costly cosmetic services.
