CHAPTER One Foundation Executive Director Josiah Kalala says Zambia needs legal reforms to allow the suspension or mandatory leave of elected and appointed officials facing corruption allegations relating to their work. Earlier this month, Livingstone Mayor Constance Nalishebo Muleabai spent over two hours being questioned by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) over alleged corruption and abuse of office. Last year, an investigation linked Muleabai to a bribery scandal in which she allegedly received K180,000 from the owner of Zam Nuka Farm Ltd to facilitate the cancellation of property rates that had accumulated to over K300,000.
