ZESCO has revealed that it has lost close to K2 million due to the vandalism of transformers and cables in the last one week. Speaking to journalists at the utility company’s headquarters, Tuesday, Company Senior Manager in charge of special duties and investigation, Benny Mwanamakwa explained that about 10 suspected vandals had been apprehended following tips from members of the public. “Last Monday to Friday, we lost close to K2 million as a result of vandalism of transformers and cables. Just last week alone, we lost about 18 transformers; eight of those transformers were in Lusaka, to be particular, Lusaka West, while the rest of the 10 were outside Lusaka.
