LOCAL Government Minister Gift Sialubalo has ordered all traders who have abandoned their designated market spaces to return immediately, warning that street vending remains prohibited. Sialubalo said the Ministry of Local Government will hold a meeting next week with street vendors and other stakeholders to explore ways of accommodating those without proper trading spaces. He clarified that his earlier call not to harass street vendors was misinterpreted and did not amount to legalising street vending.
