THE Kafue National Park has roared back to life as government unleashed 1,650 wildebeest and 300 zebras onto its vast plains, in a record-breaking wildlife relocation that officials say will transform the park’s ecosystem, lure more tourists, and cement Zambia’s conservation credentials. The reciprocal exercise will also see 50 Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, absent from Liuwa for over three decades, reintroduced from the Mulobezi Game Management Area.
