WE LIVE in a crooked world. Whether we like it or not, this is the reality of life as we face it today. When we hear a statement from the Minister of Finance Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane stating that it’s impossible to resuscitate Indeni Oil Refinery because it requires a lot of money, we can only think of the UPND as a political party that is here to fix selected national problems, leaving those that are beneficial to the party and personal interests. It’s a crooked way of governing. Dr Musokotwane claims that about US$500 million is needed to revive Indeni Oil Refinery, which is too much money to spend on the parastatal “without depriving funding to other needy social sectors”....
