IN December last year, Honourable Stanely Kakubo resigned from his position as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This was after he was embroiled in a suspected illicit transaction where he received huge sums of cash from his Chinese partners. We gather that before his resignation, Honourable Kakubo was actually summoned to the President’s house where he admitted having conducted himself in a disreputable manner and causing embarrassment to the Head of State and the government. We further understand that he told the President that he would understand if his appointment was to be revoked; and that President Hichilema instead asked him to resign.
