AUDITOR General Dr Ron Mwambwa has observed a decline in journalists writing authoritatively on Public Finance Management. Dr Mwambwa raised his concern when he officially opened the AG’s Investigative Journalism workshop a fortnight ago, attributing the gap in quality journalistic work to limited resources and a lack of training, particularly in understanding complex financial data and audit reports. We agree with the Auditor General that very few journalists in the country can write authoritatively on Public Finance Management.
