The ruling Patriotic Front in Kafue has suspended its district youth chairman Wellington Mwansa for allegedly squandering 35kg of beef which he was asked to deliver to the command centre in Chiawa during campaigns for the Kafue Council Chairperson by-election.

According to a letter of suspension addressed to Mwansa which was signed by PF District Secretary Lazarous Sikaona and copied to Constituency Chairman Gibson Sinkala, Mwansa has also been suspended for embezzling PF funds, among other charges .

It is alleged that Mwansa, in his capacity as district youth chairman was tasked to distribute food stuff to party members, but failed to deliver beef weighing 35ks to the command centre in Chiawa.

Mwansa confirmed his suspension in a telephone interviews, but described the move as illegal because he was not given chance to exculpate himself.

Mwansa accused Sikaona of harbouring person hatred against him, adding that his suspension had no blessings from the entire PF district executive committee.

He said the reasons that Sikaona cited for his suspension were petty and malicious, meant to tarnish his good standing in the party and society at large.

Mwansa said it was very naive and childish for Sikaona to accuse him of stealing 35kg of meat which he could easily buy from a butcheries if he needed to eat fresh beef.
