WATER Development and Sanitation Minister Collins Nzovu says the water shortage being experienced in Lusaka and other areas is due to drying up of boreholes and reservoirs, among other things. And Nzovu says the country will experience a worse water crisis in November 2024. In an interview, Nzovu said most boreholes were drying up because they were drilled only 50 metres below the ground. “It’s a combination of factors, a lot of combinations of factors. One major one is actually the drying up of the water resource. The water resources are drying up everywhere. The boreholes which used to give us water in a lot of areas have dried up.
