ELECTORAL Commission of Zambia Chief Executive Officer Brown Kasaro says most citizens who submitted before the Electoral Reform Technical Committee want by-elections to be eliminated because they are a drain on national resources. And Kasaro says being a lawyer, Commission Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis has represented people from different political parties throughout her career, but that doesn’t mean she shares her clients’ political views. Meanwhile, Kasaro says elections which have been held since 2021 have been free and fair, but there’s room for improvement.
