THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has told the Constitutional Court that the People’s Pact’s petition, seeking to halt the delimitation exercise, is premature, as it seeks to prevent the Commission from performing its constitutional function. ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro has submitted that the commission has already commenced the implementation of the constitutional amendment to ensure that the additional 70 constituencies come into effect upon the next dissolution of Parliament on May 15, 2026.
