THE Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) has lamented that some businesses have been owing it since its inception in 2009. Earlier this month, the Commission published the names of all persons that borrowed money from it and were in arrears as at February 28, 2023. In a notice to the public, CEEC director general Muwe Mungule said the move was for verification purposes. And in an interview, CEEC Public Relations and Communications Manager Michelo Mukata said the institution wanted to recover the over K200 million owed by its clients. “We have about 2,046 clients on that list who owe the value of K200 million plus.
