LUSAKA Mayor Chilando Chitangala has ordered a thorough investigation into the alleged looting and misappropriation of over 50,000 litres of council fuel stocks, amounting to over K1.5 million. A Lusaka City Council Internal Audit Report revealed that 23,470 litres of fuel amounting to K1,299,721 was irregularly drawn by motor vehicles which were not among the council fleet of vehicles without authority. The report further revealed that fuel drawings amounting to K177,882.78 were recorded on the LCC fuel coupons but this information was not appearing on the fuel statement from the Filling Station.
