ECONOMIST Dr Lubinda Haabazoka says inflated prices of copper in the US market will not have a significant impact on the Zambian economy. He argues that Zambian copper is not directly exported to the US market but actually goes to China, which then sells its products around the world. On the other hand, Economist Trevor Hambayi says tariff hikes by the US government will have a greater impact on the US itself than on other countries like Zambia because the value of their goods and services will increase in price.
