THE State has asked the Lusaka High Court to dismiss the application by former president Edgar Lungu’s daughter, Chiyeso, to set aside the non-conviction-based forfeiture order proceedings for irregularities. Emmanuel Khondowe, a senior Investigations officer at the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), has submitted that he personally served Chiyeso with the affidavit in support of the notice of motion and skeleton arguments. The State earlier seized properties linked to Lungu, his wife Esther and their children, including Tasila. The Director of Public Prosecutions consequently applied to the court to have all the seized properties forfeited to the State.
