A BUS conductor of Lusaka’s 10 Miles area, Paul Chitalu, has been convicted and sentenced to five years imprisonment with hard labour for aggravated robbery. Chitalu was found guilty of stealing police uniforms and identity cards while threatening violence against Yotum Mwila. According to the facts read out by State Prosecutor Wisdom Kashweka before court, Mwila was walking in Kamwala Township near Chibolya area on August 24, 2023 when he met Chitalu who commanded him to give surrender everything he was carrying to him. Out of fear, Mwila handed over what he had and immediately went to Lusaka Central Police Station where he reported the matter and valued his lost property at K10, 000.
