THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has asked the High Court to deny Shiwang’andu PF member of parliament Stephen Kampyonog’s wife, Wanziya Chirwa, bail pending her appeal against a three-year sentence. ACC Legal and Prosecutions Officer Namwezi Chisanga Chizalila has told the court that Chirwa had not disclosed exceptional circumstances to warrant the court granting her bail. On September 27, 2024, Lusaka Magistrate Sylvia Munyinya convicted and sentenced Chirwa to three years simple imprisonment for being in possession of proceeds of crime.
