Patson Daka has been given the all-clear for Wednesday’s Group C clash against Iran at the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea.
Daka sustained a facial wound on May 21 in Zambia’s 2-1 win over Portugal in the two sides’ opening Group C clash in Jeju.
The striker was substituted in the 41st minute and replaced by Emmanuel Banda.
Team physican Dr Mwila Lupasha said Daka and Conlyde Luchanga, who was also taken off on health grounds in the 63rd minute, are both fit the for the penulatimate Group C match.
“Today (Monday) he (Daka) is feeling much better and we wanted to assess how he can do in training and see if he can continue training tomorrow to see if he can play in Wednesday’s game. The assessment so far is that he is doing fine but we will still have to see in the evening. But from what I have assessed, he is fine and should be ready for Wednesday,” said Dr Lupasha.
“Luchanga had a small wound on the buttock. We dressed it before the game but the dressing came out whilst he was playing but otherwise he is good and fit for the game. So there is nothing serious to worry about for both players.”
