Lusaka Dynamos coach Patrick Phiri has described Fwayo Tembo as a true professional after riding a wave of hostile verbal abuse in Saturday’s 1-1 away draw at Power Dynamos.
Power fans made sure they let Fwayo know about what they exactly felt about his shock decision to dump the club on July 14 to join ambitious Dynamos when they booed him and called him a Hule (Prostitute) every time he was on the ball in Saturday’s game.
Fwayo came on as a substitute on the hour mark for Conlyde Luchanga in what was also his Dynamos debut at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe where he had spent two seasons after joining them as a free agent in April 2016.
“He is a seasoned professional,he has played outside Zambia,he has played for Zambia in our national stadiums so obviously he was not intimidated,” Phiri said.
“He was fantastic. You could see how the game changed when he came in. This is what we missed. We missed a player with such good talent, vision and skill. So obviously he has brought a lot of value to the team.”
Fwayo made an immediate statement as a Dynamos player when he set up Chris Mugalu for the 86th minute equaliser after earlier skying a sitter in the 81st minute.
This is after Power had taken the lead in the 63rd minute when Benson Sakala headed-in the ball on the rebound after Larry Bwalya’s free kick came off the beam.
Meanwhile,Power stay 2nd on the table on 33 points, two more than Dynamos after Saturdays game.
Napsa Stars were on 36 points ahead of their Sunday away date against Nchanga Rangers in Chingola.
