Power Dynamos return to the Absa Cup after a six-year hiatus and 12 years since their last league and cup double. In 2011, the Arthur Davies side won its second Absa Cup title, then known as the Barclays Cup, on December 3 when they beat Konkola Blades 2-1 in the final. Power’s triumph was sweeter in that it was secured on home soil at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe and it came three weeks after the Kitwe giants lifted their 6th league title.
