THE Futsal national team rallied from a go-down to thrash Ghana 5-2 in its opening game at the 2024 AFCON in Rabat, Morocco. Goals from Patrick Banda, Francis Chinyama, Wiseman Phiri, Mbalika Mwaliteta and Jackson Simwami secured the vital win for Andrea Cristoforetti’s men. Zambia, who are making their third appearance at the Futsal AFCON had started the game on a slow note and allowed Ghana to break the deadlock just eight minutes after kick-off through Emmanuel Pako, who beat goalkeeper Jackson Chitungu with a close-range strike.
