A Zambian Pastor together with three of his family members based in South Africa has been involved in a near-fatal road accident after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned five times.
Pastor Davis Mwamba Zuze who was travelling with his wife and his two sons identified as Bill Zuze, 23 and Gracious Zuze, 12 was involved in an accident on the Umtata-Johannesburg high way after their vehicle had a tire burst.
According to Zambia’s First Secretary for Press at the High Commission in Pretoria Naomi Nyawali, the accident happened about 70 kilometres south of Johannesburg as the family was returning home to Umtata, Eastern Cape Province, after attending a school event for one of their close family members in Johannesburg.
“Pastor Zuze’s youngest daughter, Gracious, has been evacuated to Busamed Private hospital in Johannesburg where she has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit as her condition was critical in a coma while Bill, has been admitted to Baragwaneth hospital in Nelspruit after sustaining a suspected fractured spine. Pastor Zuze with his wife were discharged after undergoing medical examinations,” said Nyawali in a statement.
“Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa His Excellence Mr. Emmanuel Mwamba said the Mission was making frantic efforts to provide assistance to the Zuze family. He thanked the South African Paramedics and Police for the timely evacuation of the accident victims from the accident scene to the hospital as that helped to save their lives.”
