Bus operators in Kitwe have increased bus fares by between K2 and K2.50 for local routes.
According to the Bus and Taxi Owners Association of Zambia, the increment is effective October 8, 2018.
The association has justified the increment in bus fares following the upward increase in fuel prices.
The Energy Regulation Board hiked the price of price of petrol per litre by K2.31 whilst diesel was hiked by K2.64 and kerosene had been increased by K2.49.
