Acting Lusaka Province PF Chairperson Paul Moonga has vowed that ruling party youths will continue with their planned protest march to National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader Chishimba Kambwili’s residence on Friday.

And Lusaka Province PF secretary Kennedy Kamba says NDC youths should be ready to receive a petition from the ruling party on that day.

On Tuesday, Kambwili warned that he would institute contempt proceedings against PF Secretary General Davies Mwila and his deputy Mumbi Phiri if they went ahead with the protest on a subject matter which was before the courts.

But in an interview, Moonga said Kambwili needed to hit the gym and lose some weight in order to start reasoning well.

“Contempt of court for what? Does he understand contempt of court? The problem when people become too fat, they stop reasoning. He needs to go the gym, he starts exercising it will make his mind become fresh. We are not commenting on any court matter ourselves, what we are going there for, we are just demonstrating peacefully so that the man can stop insulting citizens. You know very well that ‘In the beginning was the word and the word was with God’ and God created man in his own image. Now the image of man is being called a dog and we are simply saying the person has gone too far,” Moonga said.

“We can’t say contempt of court, the courts will do their own work, we are doing our own job. That is why we are notifying the police on all the demostrations because we are law abiding citizens. When him he is insulting, he doesn’t need to get permission from anybody, you saw those racial remarks to the Chinese? The same Chishimba Kambwili. So the man has been left like a loose cannon at will insulting every citizen.”

He said PF youths were presenting the petition as Zambians, not party officials.

“So we are doing this as Zambians, not as Patriotic Front, of course as the club of the Patriotic Front to stop this lunatic character from insulting people. Remember the President is an institution. Edgar Chagwa Lungu has become an institution for the Zambian people. No contempt of court because the police have been notified for our intention to go there and we are going there. If he had a office we could have gone there now the man is a street vendor, he has no office,” he said.

“So we are taking the petition to stop him from insulting. And if you have been reading our petition statements throughout, there has not been any vulgar language. All we have been talking about is to stop insulting the office of the President.”

Moonga said if Kambwili wanted to cite Mwila and Phiri for contempt, then he should cite the entire PF youth wing which would be at his residence on Friday.

“He has to take the whole entire group, he must count the people who will go there because that petition is not Davies Mwila, it is the people’s. It is not Davies Mwila, it is not Mumbi Phiri, it is not Paul Moonga. If the people of Lusaka district move in mass to take this letter to Mr Chishimba Kambwili ‘sir here is the letter of petition to you to stop the insults’, if taking the petition to Chishimba Kambwili will warrant contempt of court, then he should cite the whole entire district. Mpaka litente thousands and thousands will go to his house, you have never seen PF Lusaka,” said Moonga.

And Kamba asked NDC youths to prepare themselves for Friday.

“Tell the NDC youths to prepare themselves adequately because us we are more than ready to take the petition to his house on Friday. This is the responsibility of the party to protect the President from politicians and our role is to ensure that we protect the President and we make sure that President concentrates on development and delivering services to the Zambian people. Just tell those youths to prepare adequately because us the party if we had known his office we would have taken our petition to his office but Chishimba Kambwili doesn’t have an office in Lusaka and that is why the party decided to take the petition to his house so that we stop him from insulting the head of state,” said Kamba.

“The Politics of Chishimba Kambwili, we are going to handle them politically and we are going to make sure we stop his nonsense. The youths of party are capable of handling Chishimba Kambwili, if the police officers don’t want to discipline, it is our duty as PF members to protect the Head of State. So my warning to [Charles] Kabwita national youth chairperson person for NDC is that all the Party structures in Lusaka are coming to his place on Friday.”
