A KITWE based Chinese investor Zhang Lianan of Lianan Mining Ltd has written to former Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Stanley Kakubo demanding a total of US$893,200 and a Mercedes Benz after a foiled mine transaction. The Chinese national states through his lawyers, Apton and Partners, that he entered into a joint venture agreement with Kakubo for the exploration on his mine held in Kasempa on May 1, 2022. Lianan states that he has been unable to recover his investment amount of US$300,000 from Kakubo who is in the process of selling the said mine.
