VICE-PRESIDENT Mutale Nalumango says government sold maize from the country’s reserves because there was need to pay the farmers who had provided it. And Nalumango says the water levels at Kariba Dam are so low such that the solution the opposition Patriotic Front had offered government would not make a difference. During the Vice President question time in the National Assembly yesterday, PF Kawambwa MP Nixon Chilangwa wanted to find out when Vice-President Nalumango would apologise for UPND’s failed campaign promises, such as ensuring reduced mealie meal prices, cheap fuel and a strong Kwacha. In her response, Nalumango said even though the Kwacha had depreciated, President Hakainde Hichilema had honoured his promise that the local currency would appreciate once elected....
