THE latest Auditor General’s report on the accounts of the republic for the financial year ended December 31, 2023 has revealed that nine out of 20 hospitals which were inspected were operating with inadequate staffing levels. And the Auditor General’s report has revealed that several hospitals have various key non-functional equipment such as X-ray Machines, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and CT scans, among others. Meanwhile, the report has revealed that five hospitals, among them Solwezi, Kasama and Lewanika General Hospitals had dilapidated infrastructure.
