MINISTRY Of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary, Dr Hapenga Kabeta has told illegal miners in Mufumbwe District in North-Western Province to formalise their activities or risk being removed forcefully. On Sunday, ZNBC reported that thousands of illegal gold miners had besieged Mufumbwe District in North Western Province, which was now the new gold rush site. The site, which is about 40 kilometers off the Solwezi – Mufumbwe road, had attracted people from many parts of the country. However, their activities were disrupted on Saturday morning by police officers who ordered them to pack and leave the area.
