ABOUT 47 households of Kalulushi’s Kalusale Community have issued a demand letter to Sino Metals, demanding the immediate payment of $220 million as interim compensation to facilitate the relocation, resettlement, screening, independent medical testing, treatment and livelihood restoration of the affected households. The 47 households also demand payment of $9.7 billion into an escrow account for the establishment of a Victims and Environmental Compensation and Rehabilitation Fund.
