THE OASIS Forum is right in its demand for the State to grant former president Edgar Lungu his right to freely talk and move about like any other citizen of this country. We may not agree with them where they suggest that he should be allowed to start campaigning so that people can choose, as that would create chaos outside the electoral campaign period. But at least his movements should not be restricted. In our opinion, as long as the State has withdrawn the former president’s retirement benefits from him, then there should not be an issue about him engaging in active politics. As he engages the public in conversation, however, he must not spread hate speech, division and disinformation....
