A 39-year-old Kabwe man has been apprehended by police after a stone which was aimed at his daughter hit and killed his tenant’s 14-year-old son.

In a statement today, Police Spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo narrated that Emmanuel Mukwasa had a misunderstanding with his daughter and he threw a stone at her but it ended up hitting the tenant’s son.

“A male juvenile aged 14 years of Makululu Compound in Kabwe died after he was mistakenly hit in the head with a stone by Emmanuel Mukwasa aged 39, who happens to be a landlord to the victim’s parents. All started on Thursday, 29th June, 2017, at about 06:00 hours when the victim went to answer a call of nature. The landlord who lives in the same premises with the boy’s parents who are tenants had a misunderstanding with his daughter after which he picked a stone with a view of stoning his daughter. It was at that time when the boy also emerged from the pit latrine and the stone landed on his head and he fell to the ground,” stated Katongo.

“The landlord later called for help and he together with the victim’s parents rushed the boy to Kabwe General Hospital where the victim was admitted. The following day, which is yesterday, 30th June, 2017, the boy died at about 12 00 hours. The accused person was later apprehended and detained in police custody while the body of the deceased is in the same Hospital mortuary.”
