IMABER General Trading Limited has sued the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) in the High Court, demanding 811.13 metric tonnes of white maize, which it paid for at K3,244,520 but did not collect. The company is also seeking the delivery of 6,899.43 metric tonnes of white maize as per the offer letter dated July 11, 2022, and the subsequent acceptance by contract signed with FRA on July 13 to July 16, 2022. Further, the company wants K153,700 for transportation, accommodation and upkeep costs incurred while in Mbala and Kasama, where it was supposed to collect the maize.
