THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has thwarted a cigarette smuggling scheme involving 800 cases worth K10 million in taxes. ZRA Corporate Communications Manager Oliver Nzala says during an operation, the Authority intercepted a rigid truck carrying a consignment of household goods and 800 boxes of Viking cigarettes, declared as transit cargo destined for DRC. In a statement, Wednesday, Nzala said after an inspection of the truck, it was established that the cigarette consignment was meant for the Zambian market. “The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has thwarted another cigarette smuggling scheme involving 800 cases worth K10 million in taxes.
