MINEWORKERS Union of Zambia (MUZ) president Joseph Chewe says government should tighten mining regulations in order to curb illegal mining activities by foreign nationals. Recently, government suspended two Chinese operated mining firms in Kasempa District for illegal processing of gold and copper ore. Following this development, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce distanced itself from the two firms, stating that the suspended mines were not its members.
