Former Zambia Meteorological Department director Jacob Nkomoki and three others have appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for corrupt practices.
According to the indictment, in count one, Nkomoki, Joseph Kanyanga, Oversease Mwangase and Mukufute Mukelabai on dates unknown but between 1st July, 2014 and 31st November 2015 being public officers namely directors and senior officer respectively corruptly solicited for 12,459 Euros cash as gratification from GBMS Engineering Limited as a reward in order for them to sign a completion statement the works that were awarded to the said company.
In count two, the four are charged with abuse of authority of office for the manner in which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between MET and GBMS Engineering.
