FORMER president Edgar Lungu has petitioned the state in the Lusaka High Court seeking a declaration that government’s position that he ought to seek permission from it before he can travel is illegal and not supported by the law. A few days ago, Lungu gave the state a two-day ultimatum to make amends for its refusal to allow him to travel to South Korea, failure to which he would commence a court proceeding against it.
