THE State has opposed a bail application by former defence minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba’s nephew, Adolphus Mubanga, who is serving prison time. In November, 2023, the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court sentenced Mubanga to two years imprisonment with hard labour for possession of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime. However, Mubanga has appealed his sentence in the Economic and Financial Crimes Court, High Court Division, and applied for bail pending hearing of his appeal.
