FORMER Industrial Development Corporation Limited (IDC) CEO Perry Mapani has won the case in which he sued the entity for unfair and wrongful dismissal. The Lusaka High Court, Industrial Relations Division, has awarded Mapani an aggregated award of 44 months’ salary. However, Justice Egispo Mwansa has dismissed Mapani’s claim of K5,650,970 in basic pay for the remainder of his contract of employment, stating that it would constitute unjust enrichment. In this matter, Mapani sued IDC in the High Court, demanding an order that the termination of his employment was unfair, wrongful and unjustified.
