The Zambia Under-20 team played its first friendly match under new coach Mumamba Numba on Tuesday afternoon that they marked with a 6-0 win over Chilanga Youth Select team at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
Zambia entered their second week of training camp in Lusaka head of the 2017 COSAFA U20 Cup that they will defend on home ground this December on the Copperbelt.
Nkwazi striker and Mamelodi Sundowns target Lameck Banda scored a hat trick for Numba’s side.
Clinton Lubula, Evans Chisenga and Harry Milanzi added a goal each.
Lubula and Banda are part of the 12 Zambia Under-17 players Numba promoted from the team he led to victory in the finals of the 2017 COSAFA U17 Cup in Mauritius in July.
Zambia has been drawn in Group A where they will play Swaziland, Uganda and Malawi at the COSAFA U20 Cup they will host from December 6-16.
The champions will kick off their title defence against guest side from the CECAFA Zone, Uganda, on December 6 at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Nkana and Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe will be the host venues for the tournament where all the group games and semifinals will be played.
The final and 3rd and 4th playoff will be staged at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
