National team coach Wedson Nyirenda has set winning the African Nations Championship (CHAN) as the target.
Nyirenda said in an interview at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka yesterday that winning the CHAN title is the ultimate target for the team.
“I dont believe in targets. We are going there to win the title and what is important is to go there with a mind frame of winning,” he said.
Nyirenda said the team was almost ready for the challenge and that his technical bench would work on the tactical aspect in the remaining few days.
He lauded the players for their exemplary behavior saying the levels of discipline amongst players is impressive.
“The team is so disciplined and the players are grasping every little detail. We have a team that can win the CHAN title,” he said.
The team has however suffered a setback as midfielder Misheck Chaila has been ruled out due to an injury he sustained from the Mongu training camp.
