The women’s national soccer team has defeated Botswana to advance to the fourth round of the Olympic qualifier.

The ladies will next clash with east African nation, Kenya, in the fourth round of the qualifiers.

Zambia beat Botswana at their backyard by two goals to nil to claim the bragging rights.

A brace from Hellen Chanda put the nation in pole position to make their first ever Olympic appearance at the Tokyo 2020 tournament.

Botswana were under siege from the first minute and conceded after a quarter of play before conceding again in the 53rd minute.

It is the first time that Shepolopolo has come so close to qualifying for the tournament.

One team from Africa will automatically qualify for the Olympics while another will face Chile in the play-off.
