Police in Lusaka have arrested a 22-year-old woman of Lusaka’s Mandevu compound for pouring hot cooking oil on her husband’s face.

In a statement today, police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo said the incident happened after a marital dispute.

“We have arrested a 22 years old woman of Mandevu compound identified as Natasha Kalesa for allegedly pouring hot cooking oil on her husbands face. According to the victim identified as Samson Tonga aged 32 also of Mandevu, the suspect poured hot cooking oil on him after a marital dispute.
This happened today 07th April, 2017 at about 13 30 hours,” stated Katongo.

“The suspect is detained in Police custody and is likely to be charged with Assault Causing Grievious Bodily Harm. The victim has been issued with a medical report.”
