PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu says the ruling Patriotic Front will win next year’s general elections adding that only ignorant people are going to a party that will never rule the country.

Speaking when he drummed up support for George Chisanga, in Lukashya, Tuesday, President Lungu said the UPND will never rule this country.

“Ukuvota pa 17th September nipa bwato pantu emuli amaka elo emuli abantu. Aba mungulu abaleya kuchi pani ichi shakatekepo party. Paliba party imo ishakatekepo pantu tabaishiba ati amaka yaba ku bantu. Until they wake up to know that amaka yaba ku abantu. That is why natwishiba tulewina. Shakatekepo party tabakatekepo balya iyo namu 2021 the mandate will be given to us. (On 17th September, you should vote for the PF because that is where the majority are. Ignorant people are going to a party that will never rule this country. There is a certain party that will never rule this country because they don’t know that power belongs to the people. Until they realise that power belongs to the people. That is why we know that we will win. Even in 2021, the mandate will be given to us),” President Lungu said.

He urged Chisanga to emulate him when he is elected.

Nomba, bonse abena ikala calo balepukunya fye umutwe ukutila ninshi ba PF tabaleishila kuno mukubomba? Efilelenga ni ba MP. Ba MP tabalefisha efyo abantu bale kabila munchende emo baikalalamo. Nga wa chita ifyo mune ninshi waya bwangu bwangu. Ukopeko kuli ine, nemunobe nali MP ku Chawama nalebomba naba Chawama chila bushiku mpaka ba Sata bamonapo chimo. Lelo ninebo President. Ngawaifinya uka shala weka. (George, you wanted to serve the people of Lukashya, time now has come. Zambians voted for PF because they believed that we will take development in all parts of the country, we are still carrying that vision. But people are wondering why the PF is not taking development in other areas, it is because of some members of parliament who are not taking telling us what the people want in their various constituencies. When you do that, you will be voted out. Emulate me. I worked with the people of Chawama when I was an MP until the late president Michael Sata did to elevate me. When you don’t humble yourself, you will be on your own).” said President Lungu.

Meanwhile, Chisanga begged Lukashya residents to vote for him saying he would work for them when elected.
