FORMER labour minister Fackson Shamenda says government’s pronouncement that retirees will receive their pension benefits after three months is attainable, provided it sets its priorities right. In an interview, Shamenda said even during his time as labour minister, government was fighting for early payment of terminal benefits, but a lack of collective political will prevented that from happening.
