Ministry of Health Mental Health Specialist Gabriel Lungu says 65 percent of in-patients at Chainama are due to alcohol and substance abuse. Speaking during the launch of the project on the Determinants of Psychoactive Substance use among young people in Lusaka, Lungu said the Ministry had inadequate rehabilitation centres to treat patients undergoing substance abuse and psychoactive disorders. “The key problems facing the young people is the abuse of alcohol, so the Ministry of Health has taken that as a priority area or target group which it wants to address.
