NATIONAL Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) executive director Dr Aaron Chansa says the disconnection of five schools in Eastern Province from the national grid will cause some terrible disturbances. On Saturday, Zesco spokesperson Matongo Maumbi said the power utility company had disconnected five schools in Eastern Province, among them Chizongwe Technical School and Eastern Girls Boarding School, due to nonpayment of bills. Commenting on this, Dr Chansa said the move was disturbing. “We are extremely disturbed that Zesco has disconnected five learning institutions in Eastern Province. This is going to affect the way that these institutions run, especially that schools are reopening tomorrow. Otherwise, we wouldn’t want to see academic disturbances.
