THE Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) says the eight mealie meal brands which government named for containing aflatoxins are slowly recording an increase in their sales which had dropped. Last week, the Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) assured that all mealie meal brands currently on the market were safe for human consumption. Government had named eight mealie meal brands among them Pembe, Africa Milling, Star Milling, Continental Milling, and Star Milling as containing aflatoxins shortly after issuing an alert that consuming contaminated mealie meal could cause some serious health problems.
