MMD president Nevers Mumba says the Tonse Alliance’s victory in the Petauke by-election is not strange because Easterners don’t change with a change of government. Commenting on the by-election results in a statement, Friday, Mumba said Easterners took time to transition to the ruling party. “Today, we witness the fruit of the multiparty democracy that our forebearers envisioned. The UPND Alliance has lost Petauke Central but won Pambashe, while TONSE Alliance has lost Pambashe and won Petauke. In this case the real victor is democracy.
